Project Background: A 10-Year Repeat Partnership

In the indoor playground equipment children’s play industry, repeat customers are a strong testament to product quality, design capabilities and reliable service. This case study highlights a 10-year partnership between our factory and an indoor playground operator from Palestine. Every two to three years, this client updates their soft playground equipment to refresh the visual style and expand the age range the playground can serve, thereby maintaining a competitive edge in the children’s entertainment market.

Recently, in 2023, we designed and delivered a play structure suitable for children ages 2–10. After the innovative indoor playground facility had been operating smoothly for two years and six months, the client provided the following requirements:

  • The current play options are somewhat limited.
  • They would like to increase the variety of kids’ activity center equipment.
  • They would like to expand the age range of children the indoor kids’ zone can serve.
  • They would like the overall style to better align with current soft play market trends.

The core request: carry out an efficient upgrade within the existing space without replacing the original play equipment on a large scale.

Upgrade Design Concept: More Attractions & Wider Age Range

After thorough discussions, our commercial indoor playground design team gained a clear understanding of the client’s needs and developed an upgrade plan based on the existing play structure layout. We redesigned the indoor playground equipment layout and added the following features:

  • Sports-themed children’s ninja obstacle course. This currently popular sports-challenge attraction gives older children physical challenge and excitement, helping the playground cater to a wider age range.
  • Ball pit kids’ ninja warrior course. Combines the classic ball pit with ninja adventure playground elements to create a more interactive and engaging play experience.
  • Soft toddler climbing playground structures. New soft climbing elements strengthen children’s physical activity and motor skills while improving the overall visual appeal.
  • Three popular styles of electric swivel chairs. The existing rest and seating area was updated with three currently popular electric swivel chairs, giving the soft obstacle playground a more modern feel and vibrant colors.

The plan retains the existing soft play area for toddlers while adding multiple new functional play zones to make the entire playground more appealing. Once the customer confirmed the playground plan and paid the deposit, production began immediately. During production, we strictly adhered to the following principles:

  • Commercial-grade materials and structural reinforcement.
  • Factory pre-shipment assembly to ensure precise fitting of playground components.
  • Export-grade packaging to ensure safe international transport.

From communication, design and production to sea shipping, the entire process took just one month. After shipment, we continue to provide installation drawings, online technical support and installation progress tracking to ensure the project is successfully implemented.

Previous Design vs. Renovated Design

The comparison below shows the existing layout before the upgrade and the newly confirmed renovation design, which keeps the mature toddler soft play zone while inserting the ninja course, ball-pit ninja zone and updated seating.

Pre-Shipment Test Assembly

Before packing, the main steel frame, electric swivel chairs, ball-pit challenge course and soft components are test-assembled in our factory. The photos below confirm dimensional accuracy, labeling and component matching so that on-site installation can proceed efficiently.

Finished Products During Manufacturing

All components are built with commercial-grade materials and structural reinforcement. The finished products below show the soft play modules, ninja-course elements, ball-pit accessories and swivel-chair parts coming off the production line before pre-assembly and packaging.

Export-Grade Packaging

To keep international sea transport safe, components are sorted, wrapped and packed to export standard. Soft modules are protected against moisture and abrasion, metal parts are sealed, and every package is labeled for the corresponding installation zone.

Container Loading

Packages are loaded and secured inside the container in a logical installation order, reducing on-site handling and protecting the goods during the long sea voyage to Palestine.

Installation Drawings & Remote Support

After shipment, we provide detailed installation drawings, online technical support and installation progress tracking. The drawings below guide local crews through the steel frame, soft modules, ball pit, ninja course and electric swivel chairs step by step, ensuring the project is implemented smoothly.

Real Shots from Customer Feedback

After completion, the client shared real on-site photos of the upgraded facility. The refreshed space combines the retained toddler soft play area with the new ninja obstacle course, ball pit adventure zone and colorful electric swivel chairs, serving children from toddlers up to age ten.

Why Regular Play Equipment Upgrades Matter

An indoor children’s playground is not a one-time investment. Regularly upgrading equipment is key to sustained profitability.

  1. Maintain novelty and increase repeat business. Children easily grow tired of the same old equipment. New attractions spark a desire to visit again, directly driving repeat spending by families.
  2. Cater to a wider age range and expand the customer base. Equipment designed solely for toddlers attracts only very young children. Adding indoor obstacle course equipment and climbing structures also attracts older children, increasing average stay duration and spending per family.
  3. Keep pace with market trends and avoid looking outdated. Playground equipment styles evolve rapidly. Partial upgrades keep the facility modern and prevent it from falling behind competitors.
  4. Reduce investment risk and minimize losses from closures. Compared with full demolition and reconstruction, partial upgrades based on the existing structure cost less, take less time and cause minimal disruption to normal operations.
  5. Boost parental trust and enhance brand image. A continuously updated indoor playground is more likely to be seen by parents as a brand committed to quality, supporting long-term word-of-mouth reputation.
